What We Provide:
We provide your unwanted or neglected bird a permanent home with medical care, premium diet, lots of love, free flight, and more!
Our Birds. . .
Our feathered friends are fed twice daily a diet of fresh and cooked vegetales, whole grains, fresh fruits and some pasta.
The birds are allowed to roam free, play with toys and interact with people on a daily basis. cages are usually only used on birds who have disabilities, are considered a threat due to behavior problems or are elderly. I prefer that the birds simply enjoy each others company and the company of humans as much as possible. They do have seperate cages for sleeping and eating. They each have their own toys, cage and play stand.
Adopting A Bird. . .
I try very hard to make sure each bird comes equipped with the necessities of starting a new life with it's forever family. Each bird adopted out comes with a brand new or previously boughten cage that it is used to and calls home. It also comes with a pamphlet on it's favorite activities, foods and it's current habits as far as sleeping and such.
Every family is required to fill out an adoption application where they will list the name of their current vet, three personal references and also initial for consent to a home visit to make sure the space is adequate.
I require all birds to be returned to me if the situation does not work out. The adoption fee is non refundable regardless of circumstances.
Relinquishing a Bird. . .
All birds that are handed over for relinquishment or rescue, will be quarantined for a minimum of 15 days. They will then at that time, be checked over by a vet, have their temperment checked and personality assessed. They will also have their wings clipped, beak trimmed if necessary and toenails trimmed. If they are found to be healthy and not suffering from a debilitating disease, serious wound or injury that will hamper them for life, they will then be considered fit for adoption once their personality assessment has been done and the temperment test administered. If behavior problems are found the bird will be considered a ward until it has been tamed and broke of any remaining bad habits.
